Diesels
Early 320d is M47, then N47. 325d and 330d started as M57 and the LCI 330d became N57. A pre-LCI and a post-LCI 330d are a known mix-up. Coupe and touring use the same families.
bavarianenginesstore.com titles the LCI N57 separately. Do not order it for an early M57 car.
Petrols
320i and 325i and 330i are N52 or N53 by market. 335i is N54, and very late cars can be N55. The M3 is the S65 V8. An E46 S54 will not build an E92 M3.
The N54 has two turbos. Count them in the photos.
Saloon, touring, coupe
E90, E91 and E92 share engines and can differ in oil coolers and mounts. xi cars need the xDrive sump. Say xi if the car has it.
The convertible adds weight and sometimes extra cooling. The code still leads.
Checks
N47 chain at the rear, N54 turbos and injectors, M57 swirl flaps, S65 rod bearings if the history is hard use. Ask what applies to the unit in the photos.
Electric water pumps on the N52 need a bleed routine.

VIN, code, and xi or not. Say coupe only if you think the cooler differs.
Up to 12 months on eligible internal failure after a correct fit.
Warranty
Many engines come with up to 12 months warranty. A proper workshop must fit the engine. The warranty is for a fault inside the engine. It does not cover the wrong engine, a dry start, the wrong oil, or damage done after you open the crate.
Shipping
Crate shipping from Hamburg costs 299 EUR. We pack the engine in a strong crate and send it to the address on your order. You need a forklift or an engine crane to unload it.
FAQ
Is every E90 330d an M57?
No. Later LCI cars moved to the N57.
Is the E92 M3 an S54?
No. The E92 M3 is the S65 V8.
N54 or N55 in a 335i?
Most are N54. Very late cars can be N55. Check the code.
Do you ship e90 engines to my door?
Yes. Crate shipping from Hamburg costs 299 EUR to the address on your order.
How long is the warranty?
